Met Éireann warns of 'very strong and gusty' winds in Clare

A status yellow weather warning has been issued for Clare

Met Éireann has issued a status wind warning for Clare and Limerick ahead of the arrival of the latest system of bad weather.

The warning, which was issued this Monday morning, says "very strong and gusty southwest winds" can be expected for a time on Tuesday morning.

Road users are being urged to exercise caution if travelling overnight with the warning coming into effect at 1am and remaining valid until 8am.

According to Met Éireann, possible possible impacts includes falling branches, damage to temporary structures, wave overtopping and difficult travelling conditions.

Separately, a status yellow wind and rainfall warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry. 

That warning will be valid from 8pm this Monday until 6am on Tuesday.
