PICTURES: Excitement at Shannon Airport as boxing hero Katie Taylor makes flying visit

The Olympic medallist and world champion was in Shannon ahead of her Aer Lingus flight back to the US following the Christmas break

There was excitement at Shannon Airport earlier this week as one of the country’s all-time greatest sporting legends, Katie Taylor, made a flying visit.

The Olympic medallist and world champion boxer was greeted by staff, including duty manager Adrian Glynn following her arrival at the airport ahead of her Aer Lingus flight back to the United States, where she is currently based.

While at the airport, the Bray woman was happy to pose with members of the public and staff.
