An Garda Síochána have advised Clare motorists of the possibility of “brief, intermittent road closures” in Lahinch town and surrounding areas to facilitate the Lahinch Half Marathon.
The half marathon will begin at 9am on Sunday September 14, with runners beginning the course in Lahinch. While the 10 kilometre run will start at the slightly later time of 9:30 am.
The Lahinch Half Marathon will receive a special send-off by local little blue hero Saoirse.
They will then travel from Lahinch to Liscannor, onto Clahane and Moher, past the football pitch, turning at Ballyherragh and returning via the main road.

Runners will then turn left at Myles McDonagh’s onto Ballyhean, Ballyvorda, Loughloon, and left at Kilmacreehy before finishing back in Lahinch.
All participants are expected to complete the course by midday.
The Liscannor Ladies Football Club will be assisting with stewarding, so traffic disruption is expected to be minimal.
A spokesperson for Clare An Garda Síochána have said: “We kindly ask all road users to co-operate with stewards during the event and thank you in advance for your patience and support. Stay safe and enjoy the day!”
