Lisdoonvarna volunteers launch appeal for help in maintaining the town’s landmarks

Receiving some support from Clare County Council, Department of Rural & Community Development and POBAL, these funds unfortunately don’t cover all costs

The volunteers of Lisdoonvarna Tidy Towns are appealing for help in maintaining the town's beautiful landmarks.
The committed group of locals meet twice a week to maintain and enhance popular spots in the town and surrounding areas. Their work is all about community pride, care for the environment and creating spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Currently, the volunteers look after eight key areas in and around Lisdoonvarna and this year, they have taken on even more. New projects for 2025 include the gardens at Corpus Christi Church, the community orchard at Rooska along with the painting of Kincora Road Bridge, Canon Hill and the library entrance.
Whilst the team do receive some support from Clare County Council, the Department of Rural & Community Development and POBAL, these funds don’t cover all the costs. Also in some cases, matching funds need to be provided in order to access grants.
Now, Lisdoonvarna Tidy Towns have launched a GoFundMe appeal to help keep up their vital work.
Specifically, the group are fundraising for the purchase of plants and bulbs, the replacement and upkeep of hand tools and equipment, biodiversity projects, the cost of lawn mowing at Bloods and Bens Crosses, a large public mural in the main town carpark and the replacement of Christmas lights in the town's square.
Every euro donated will help continue their work, expand their impact and keep Lisdoonvarna vibrant, green and welcoming all year round.
