An incredible €208,553 has been awarded to several West Clare organisations, including societies, schools, committees and more, as part of the General Municipal Allocation (GMA).
The GMA is defined as the discretionary funding available to the Municipal District Members for allocation in the budgetary plan. The General Municipal Allocation in Budget 2025 is €1.37 million.
96 West Clare businesses received funding under this scheme, being awarded on average €2,173 each.

Some successful applicants include St Enda's National School in Lisdoonvarna who received €15,000- St Josephs National in Miltown Malbay who were awarded €12,500-The Spanish Point Community Group have been allocated €10,186-the Michael Cusack GAA Club in Belharbour will receive €10,000 and Kilrush Tidy Towns was awarded €7,200.
This money will help these organisations, and the 91 others, to support their own local projects and initiatives. The GMA is funded through Local Property Tax.
