It has been revealed through this research that County Clare ranks fifth among the worst counties in Ireland to survive a zombie apocalypse, with a survival score of just 283.9.
The agency examined seven key survival factors, including population density, the distance to pharmacies, A&E units and supermarkets, as well as access to agricultural land, fresh water and high point mountainous areas, all crucial for avoiding becoming zombie-bait. Unfortunately, Clare's criteria is seemingly not up to scratch.
Among the worst places to be, aside from Clare, if zombies ever do make their grand entrance are Roscommon, Monaghan, Longford, Leitrim, Offaly, Carlow, Donegal, Westmeath and Kilkenny.

While Clare does indeed round out the top five, it does have one major asset: 201,829 hectares of farmland. However, while it may seem like a safe bet for food, don't be fooled. The county’s low elevation (532 metres) and limited access to medical services (42.9 km to A&E) make it a risky choice. The infected won't care how green the fields are unfortunately!
Mícheál Brennan, Head of Search Marketing at Legacy Communications spoke on this news: “While this research is, of course, tongue-in-cheek, it’s built on real data and highlights how access to resources like food, water and healthcare can make all the difference in a survival scenario.
“Whether you’d be heading for the hills or not, this index gives a light-hearted look at which counties might offer the best shot at staying safe — and which ones you might want to avoid if the unthinkable ever happened.
“So, while you're counting down the days until the next episode (of The Last Of Us), you can start planning your survival strategy... just in case," he concluded.
The top five best counties in Ireland to survive a zombie apocalypse were Galway, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Tipperary.
