A total of €1,048,097 has been allocated to the refurbishment and repair of 13 Clare community centres under the second phase of the community centres investment fund, it has been revealed.
Cathal Crowe TD broke the news, saying, "These centres and halls are the lifeblood of their communities and I was glad to work with the volunteers behind many of these centres on their applications and I'm delighted to see this funding confirmed!"
Corofin community centre has received €58,390 to fund the installation of solar panels and insulation to improve the energy efficiency of the centre.
Clare community bridge centre has been allocated €82,900 to repair a flat roof, remove a chimney stack and for internal repair works.
Clonlara C.L.A.S.S community centre was awarded €88,780 to fund the replacement of energy efficient doors and windows, LED lighting installation and the renovation of underutilised spaces.
Kilfenora community centre has received €26,750 to fund the upgrading of the light and sound system in the main hall and for the refurbishment of fire doors.
Tubber hall (Kilkeedy) has been allocated €31,251 to fund hall upgrades so safety and energy efficiency is improved.

Kilmurry McMahon community centre has been awarded €100,000 to fund the renovation and decoration of existing rooms into a new internal layout, upgrade bathrooms and the electrical system, install new flooring and storage units, along with fire doors.
Liscannor community centre has also received €100,000 to fund the replacement of its roof, to have accessible access to the building for all, a toilet upgrade and new accessible toilet, and hall floor.
Mountshannon community hall were also lucky in being awarded €100,000 to fund the replacement of an asbestos roof on a parochial hall and soundproofing of the property.
€100,000 was too issued to Quin community centre to replace the roof and asbestos tiles.
Tulla courthouse and community centre were successful in acquiring €100,000 to refurbish and replace windows and doors.
Obair family centre has been allocated €86,712 to fund the installation of a heat pump and solar panels.
Kilshanny community hall were awarded €73,314 to fund roof and wall insulation, upgrade heating, fire safety, electrics, along with renovating the kitchen and bathroom.
Lastly, St Joseph's GAA community clubhouse will receive €100,000 to fund the renovation of an existing meeting room.
