Ennis garda station
GARDAI investigating criminal activity in Ennis have seized a large quantity of drugs and cash along with a firearm and ammunition.
The seizures were made during a number of searches which were carried out in the Beechpark area of the town on Wednesday, September 6.
The searches were carried out by members attached to the Clare Detective Units, the Clare Community Engagement and the Western Region ASU.
"During the course of these searches €87,000 of suspected cocaine, €15,000 of suspected amphetamine, €5,000 of suspected xanax (2,500 tablets), €500 of suspected heroin and €1,800 cash was seized. A firearm and ammunition was also recovered" said a spokesperson.
Gardai say the drugs and firearm will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for examination.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
