ROADWORKS on a major Clare road have been suspended ahead of adverse weather conditions.
The N18 resurfacing works have been cancelled this Friday due to a status yellow rain warning in place for Clare and several other counties.
According to Met Éireann, heavy rain with thundery downpours is expected until Saturday morning, with potential impacts including spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
The N18 resurfacing works will resume next week. Works will take place between the C1 (Limerick J4) to C4 (Bunratty South) section from next Monday to Wednesday.
Resfurfacing works will take place on the C2 (Cratloe) to C4 (Bunratty South) section during next Thursday and Friday.
All works will be carried out under a northbound road closure, with two- way traffic maintained on a contraflow on the opposite carriageway.
