A STATUS yellow rain warning in in place for Clare and several other counties with Met Éireann warning of heavy rain with thundery downpours.
According to the forecaster, potential impacts include spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
The warning, which also applies to Limerick, Kerry and Galway came into effect this Friday lunchtime and remains valid until 3am on Saturday.
Separately, a status yellow wind warning is due to come into effect at 9pm this Friday.
"Becoming very windy with southeast winds, veering southwest gusting up to 110km/h, higher on exposed coasts and hills," states the warning which applies to all of Munster and Leinster.
Met Éireann says potential impacts includes damage to temporary structures, travel disruption and power outages.
An appeal has been issued to road users to exercise caution while the warning, which remains valid until 6am on Saturday, remains in place.
Separate status orange warnings have been issued for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork and Tipperary, Waterford
