Local Elections 2024: All seats filled for Clare County Council after two day count

Full Clare council elected following two long days of counting

Local Elecctions 2024: All seats filled for Clare County Council after two day count

That concludes our Live Blog coverage on Clare Live of the Clare County Council Local Elections 2024.

We now have our 28 new and returning councillors, congratulations to all.

After electing a full compliment of candidates to the Ennis, Ennistymon and Killaloe LEAs, Sunday, June 9 saw the full counts for both Kilrush and Shannon.

Many counts went by in both areas without a candidate clearing the quotas (with the exception of Shannon's first councillor David Griffin getting straight in on the first count).

Despite a recount on the eight count in Kilrush, and a two hour break so we could witness the heartbreaking defeat of the Banner men at the hands of Limerick in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship final, all candidates were decleared elected just after 9pm on Sunday night.

All Candidates Elected:

Antoinette Baker Bashua (FF), Clare Colleran Molloy (FF), Pat Daly (FF), Tommy Guilfoyle (SF), Mary Howard (FG), Paul Murphy (FG), Tom O’Callaghan (FF)

Ennistymon:
Joe Garrihy (FF), Joe Killeen (FF), Bill Slattery (FG), Shane Talty (FF)

Killaloe:
