Polling stations across Clare opened at 7am this Friday
Voting is underway across Clare in the local and European Parliament elections.
Polling stations opened at 7am this Friday and will remain open until 10pm with the sorting and counting of votes getting underway at the Woodstock Hotel in Ennis at 9am on Saturday.
There are a total of 178 polling booths across the Banner County which has a total electorate of 92,289.
Voters in Clare are being asked to elect 28 members to Clare County Council and five MEPs to the Ireland South Constituency in the European Parliament elections.
There are 59 candidates, across five Local Electoral Areas, in the local election while there are 23 candidates contesting the European Parliament election.
Those attending polling stations in Clare are being advised to bring valid photographic ID with them.

The counting of votes in the European Parliament elections will take place at Nemo Rangers GAA club in Cork from 9am on Sunday.
