One old friend said, "Sincere condolences to Aoife, Fionn, Mary, Maura, Michael and the McCabe family and friends. I am deeply saddened about the death of Ciarán, a jovial friendly good humoured and gentle gent. I knew Ciarán since our late teens when we’d meet at Scoil Éigse and the fleadhanna cheoil. We had great times together. Many the time I’d visit his home in Dublin and we’d head to the Cultúrlann for tunes and fun. Although I haven’t met Ciarán much in recent years I’d consider him a great old friend. May his gentle warm kind soul rest in peace."
Another commented, "Ciarán was one of the gentlest and kindest soul in the world, he brightened every room he went into and the climbing community will feel the loss of him deeply. My sincerest condolences to Aoife and Fionn. Sending his family all the love in the world. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis."
While a third stated, "My deepest sympathies to Fionn and Aoife, and the rest of Ciarán’s family. It was a great privilege to know Ciarán and experience the warmth and light he brought to every conversation, so full of humour and understanding. A true gent, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis."
The father-of-one will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Ennis on Thursday, September 11 from 4:30pm until 7pm. He will arrive at the Church of St John the Baptist, Kilmaley for his Funeral Mass at 12pm the following day. Burial will take place afterwards in Mount Temple Cemetery, Kilmaley.
