Rest in Peace Gerry Hynes
Tributes have poured in for Clare husband and father of three Gerard (Gerry) Hynes who sadly died recently.
Gerry was from Drumcliffe, Ennis, Clare and formerly of Marian Avenue, Ennis, Co. Clare and is remembered as
Gerry passed away peacefully at Galway Hospice and died on Saturday 5th July 2025.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Majella (Moroney), adored daughter Ann and Caoimhe and Niall, brother Brendan, sisters Kathleen and Christina, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Gerry, with one mourner writing, "My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of Gerry’s family especially to Majella, Ann and Niall thinking of you all at this very sad time. Gerry was such a lovely person and one that demonstrated such determination, courage and strength during his illness. May Gerry’s gentle soul now rest in peace!".

Another message said, "Deepest sympathies to Gerry's family and friends. Gerry was a lovely gentleman and was always a pleasure to deal with. May he rest in peace".
"Majella and family, so sorry to hear about Gerry. He was a lovely guy, always good humoured no matter when you met him, taken way too early!! He’s in good company now with Fursa and Jimmy!! Celtic away games in Europe will never be the same!!

"Heartfelt condolences to Majella & Ann, Niall, Caoimhe, Christina, Kathleen & Brendan on the sad passing of Gerry. He was a such a great character, always had a story to tell and enjoyed the craic and a laugh. May he rest in peace," another tribute read.
Gerry's funeral took place in at St. Joseph’s Church, Ennis, on Tuesday, July 8.
