Tributes have come flooding in for the late Martin McMahon of Toormore in Kilfenora who passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 8.
Predeceased by his angel twins Martin and Ann, parents Austin and Delia, his brothers John and Tom and infant sister Mary, 'Martin Autie' as he was widely known was the beloved husband of Maisie, adored father of Trés, Angela, Bernie, Veronica, Kieran and Joanne and was of course, cherished by his fourteen loving grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his brother Paddy and his wife Mary, his sons-in-law Sean, Colm, Derek, David and Angela's partner Martin, his brothers-in-law JJ and Michael and sister-in-law Marie, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
Many friends, neighbours and acquaintances took to RIP.ie to express their condolences.
One person said, "Sincere condolences to Maisie and all the McMahon family on the sad passing of Martin. He was one of life's gentlemen, may he rest in peace."

An old friend stated, "So sorry to hear of Martin's passing. A gentle and lovely man. We had many great memories of being at John Joe Conway's and always had a laugh and banter. A great conversationalist and dancer. To Maisie and the family, our sincere sympathies. Rest in peace Martin and thanks for the memories."
A third commented, "Saddened to see Martin’s obituary notice. Heartfelt sympathy to you Maisie and all the family. It was such a pleasure to meet Martin— a lovely humourous and witty man— a great character! Martin will be missed very much by you all and those who knew him. Memories of Martin will never fade. Rest in peace Martin. Sending love and sympathy to you all."
Mr McMahon will repose at St Attracta's Church, Inchovea in Kilfenora (V95 WC67) this evening, June 10, from 5pm to 8pm.
His Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, June 11, at 11am followed by burial in The Island Cemetery.
