Gardaí in County Clare have seized hundreds of uninsured vehicles over the past year and a half, it has been revealed.
Local Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney recently submitted a parliamentary question to the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan, in relation to this matter.
Deputy Cooney asked for the number of vehicles seized by Gardaí within Clare-Tipperary Division for having no insurance in 2024 and to date in 2025, by year, in tabular form.
In his response, Minister Callaghan said: “The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána under the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024.
