Council proposes installation of 19 bus stops across County Clare

Clare County Council has given notice of their proposal to install and construct 19 bus stops amid calls for better connected transport throughout the county.

According to the council, the Ennis Town Bus Service will provide two routes in a North- South NS1 and East West NS 2. The bus service will be every 30 minutes in both directions and run from early morning to midnight. The service will be operated on behalf of Transport for Ireland.

Pursuant to Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, they have proposed the erection of bus stops at the followling locations in Ennis: 

  • Cloughleigh Road (W)
  • Fergus Lawn (S)
  • Ennis General Hospital (S)
  • Gort Road Business Park (S)
  • Ballyallia (S)
  • Lahinch Road - Shanballa (W)
  • Lahinch Road - Shanballa (E)
  • Francis Street (N)
  • GAA - Tesco Francis Street (S)
  • Tesco Lifford Road (N)
  • Lifford Road (S)
  • Carmody Street (W)
  • Cloughleigh Road (E)
  • Shanaway Road - Lahinch Road (W)
  • Shanaway Road (E)
  • College Green (E)
  • Tulla Road - Hillcrest (W)
  • Ballymaley (N)
  • Lahinch Road Terminus Station Road (E)

Plans and particulars of the proposed works will be available for inspection until Friday, December 12 at the offices of Clare County Council, Áras Contae and Chláir, New Road, Ennis, between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The documents can also be viewed online, by clicking here

Submissions or observations in relation to the proposals can be made before 4pm on Friday, December 12 by emailing the ennismunicipaldistrict@clarecoco.ie or in writing to the Senior Engineer, Ennis Municipal District, Clare County Council, Áras Chontae an Chláir.
