Gardai in Ennis are investigating the incident
Gardaí in Ennis are appealing for witnesses after a stolen bank card was used at several premises in the town minutes after it was lost.
In an appeal, a spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway after a report of fraud was received in recent days.
"The injured party in this case, lost his bank card in Ennis Town and it was subsequently used in four separate transactions across the town," said Sergeant Edel Burke who added that the garda investigation is progressing.
"Gardaí have identified a suspect and he was arrested and charged with an offence under the Theft and Fraud Offences Act 2001," she said, adding that the suspect is not before the courts.

Gardai say the incident should act as a warning to those who do lose bank cards or credit cards to take immediate action as soon as they realise they are missing.
"If you become aware of the loss of your bank card, don’t delay in cancelling the same with your bank. It’s imperative the minute we notice anything to act immediately, and perhaps use your banking app to receive notification every time it’s used," said Sgt Burke.
