A motorist who allegedly gave false details to gardai when they were stopped while driving in a Clare village is facing prosecution before the courts, gardai have confirmed.
Highlighting the incident on social media, gardai say multiple offences were detected when the car was stopped at O'Briensbridge earlier this week.
"Whilst conducting a checkpoint, gardai stopped this vehicle with no valid documents displayed. The driver was disqualified and provided gardai with false details," said a garda spokesperson who confirmed the driver was arrested and is now before the courts.
Other offences include not having insurance, Motor Tax or a valid NCT certificate.

According to the post on social media, the 2006-registered Fiat Panda was seized by gardai on the day of the detection.
If convicted, the driver faces a potential prison sentence, fines and an additional disqualification.
