In an appeal, gardai say they are anxious to hear from anyone who was in the Feakle area and who may have observed a vehicle or persons acting suspiciously
Gardai in Killaloe are appealing for information after a large quantity of property was stolen by burglars who broke into a premises in Feakle.
According to gardai, the perpetrators forcefully gained access to a building in the village at around 2.30am on February 6.
"Over the course of an hour-and-a-half, the perpetrators filled a van that was onsite and left the scene in this stolen white Renault Master van," said crime prevention officer Sergeant Catriona Holohan.
Gardai say the stolen van, which was later recovered near Meelick, was observed in the Sixmilebridge area a number of hours after the burglary.
"A person travelling to work observed the stolen van near a river outside Sixmilebridge. When they approached the van they met three males and the witness was verbally abused and told to leave the scene," said Sgt Holohan.
The individual was able to describe one of three males as being stocky, with red hair.
In their appeal, gardai say they are anxious to hear from anyone who was in the Feakle area and who may have observed a vehicle or persons acting suspiciously.
Investigating gardaí say they are also appealing for information about a dark-coloured Skoda car which may have been seen in the Feakle area in the days prior to the burglary.
"If you observed a dark coloured Skoda in the Feakle area earlier in the week - maybe the occupants entered your retail premises or you observed them on the road, if so please contact Killaloe garda station on 061 620540," said Sgt Holohan.

Separately, Gardai are appealing for information regarding another burglary incident that happened in Feakle earlier on the same night
"The first burglary took place at a yard in Feakle just after 2.20am. In this instance two males entered a yard and stole a number of gas bottles. The culprits were wearing tracksuits," said Sgt Holohan.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
