Gardai in Ennis are appealing for anyone with information about late-night theft to come forward

Gardai in Ennis are investigating the theft of a chainsaw from a vehicle which was parked outside a private residence in the town.

The incident happened at the Hermitage, off the Mill Road, sometime between 9.30pm last Thursday, October 10 and 8am the following day.

"The vehicle, a white Isuzu crew cab, was parked in The Hermitage and on Friday morning the owner discovered that his orange Husqvarna chainsaw had been stolen from his vehicle," said a garda spokesperson.

It's understood the chainsaw is worth several hundred euro.

Anyone with information about the theft or who saw anything suspicious on the night is asked to contact gardai at Ennis station.

Gardai are particularly appealing to anyone who has CCTV, including doorbell camera footage to make it available to them.
