Met Éireann says temperatures could drop as low as -4 degrees overnight
Motorists in Clare are being warned of potentially hazard driving conditions as temperatures are set to plummet further over the coming days.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning for several counties including Clare.
The warning, which applies to all of Munster, Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow is due to come into effect at 6pm this Saturday and will remain valid until 11am on Sunday.
A separate Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning, also impacting Clare, will be valid between 6pm on Sunday and 11am on Monday.
Met Éireann says temperatures are expected to falling to between -2 and -4 degrees in many areas and that sharp or severe frost and icy stretches are likely - resulting in hazardous travel conditions.

Separately. a Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning has been issued for several counties in the northern half of the country. That warning, for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht and Louth, will also come into effect at 6pm.

Motorists in Clare and across the country are being urged to exercise caution and householders are being asked to check on elderly relatives and neighbours - particularly those living alone or in rural areas.
