A status yellow weather warning has been issued for Clare
MET Éireann is warning there will be "very strong and gusty" winds in Clare this weekend as stormy weather is set to impact most of the country.
The status yellow wind warning, which was issued this Thursday morning, says "Very strong and gusty southerly winds" can be expected in Clare and across the country between 7am and 8pm on Saturday.
While the approaching weather system has not been officially declared a storm, it's likely to be named Kathleen if it's upgraded by forecasters before the weekend.
Saturday is expected to be a busy day on the roads with many people due to return home following the Easter holidays and motorists are being urged to exercise caution if travelling while the warning is in place.
According to Met Éireann, possible impacts include fallen trees, difficult travel conditions, debris, loose objects displaced and some coastal flooding.
