MET Éireann has extended its cold weather warning for Clare again amid a snow threat for four counties.
According to the weather service, arctic air will bring winter hazards all this week, with sharp to severe frosts expected nationwide.
A Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning was issued this Wednesday morning for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
Snow showers in these areas may lead to difficult travelling conditions and some travel and service disruption.
It is expected to be in place until 6pm on Thursday.
A status yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning for Ireland is valid until 12pm tomorrow, with very cold temperatures causing icy stretches on roads and pavements.
The ongoing low temperatures can result in issues for vulnerable people such as the elderly, as well as animal welfare issues.
According to Met Éireann, the rest of the week will remain cold, with patches of fog or freezing fog appearing on Thursday night.
Lowest temperatures of -5 and -2 degrees can be expected, as well as widespread sharp to severe frost.
Friday will start off cold and bright with widespread frost and icy stretches, however temperatures will rise from highs of 2 to 6 degrees to between 5 and 9 degrees overnight.
It will be noticeably milder and breezier on Saturday compared to previous days, with afternoon temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.
Sunday will be very windy with spells of heavy rain and very strong, gusty southerly winds with highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.
