Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for two areas with atrocious conditions taking hold.
The South East and South West of the country will be battered on Wednesday morning and early afternoon.
A Status Yellow rain warning is in place for Cork and Kerry until later on Wednesday.
Met Eireann warned of "rain turning heavy at times overnight and Wednesday morning."
They said potential impacts include
"localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions."
The warning is valid for both counties until 12pm in Wednesday.
A similar warning is in place for Waterford and Wexford until 3pm.
A Status Yellow thunderstorm warning is in place for Cork, Kerry, Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Waterford and Wexford until 3pm.
