Birdwatch Ireland's Limerick group explored the lush greenery of the Limerick/Clare border in one of their many nature outings.

On Saturday July 20, the group gathered at Burlington Business Park at 10am to trek along the Errina Canal to Black Bridge, University of Limerick (UL).

The group walked along a stretch of the Errina Canal from Gilloge, Co Clare and back to Plassey in UL to view an abundance of species and birds along the route.

The walk took the nature lovers back to the UL campus and some lunch and coffee was enjoyed in the Pavilion Bar/Restaurant.

"This very pleasant outing in Limerick city is a great opportunity for everybody who is around to come on a day out close to home," the group said.
