A boy has died after an incident in Co Donegal.
He was pronounced dead at the scene outside Dungloe on Friday evening.
“Gardai and emergency services responded to a fatal incident at a premises in Dungloe, Co Donegal, yesterday evening, Friday 22 August,” gardai said in a statement.
“A male child was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
His body was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and has launched an investigation into the incident. A file will be prepared for the coroner’s court.
In a statement, a spokesman said: “The HSA is aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation.
“As such, no further information is available at this time.”
Sinn Fein TD for Donegal Pearse Doherty said: “My thoughts and prayers are with all of those following the heartbreaking news from Dungloe.”
