Shops put 7up in 99 mix to stretch it confirmed by '99 expert' on 2FM radio

Have you noticed air bubbles in your ice-cream?

A woman who used to pull ice-creams for a living recently went on 2FM radio to confirm the conspiracy that shops do put a bottle of 7up into their ice-cream mix to stretch it out.

The woman, Donna, said that she herself was "one of those criminals that used to put the 7up into the mixture" while working in an ice-cream van.

The ratio, as confirmed by Donna, would be about one 2-litre bottle of 7up to one or two cartons of ice-cream mixture and it would be the "off-brand 7up just to make it worse".

Carl Mullan, 2FM host, said that after putting up a picture of a 99 ice-cream on social media, someone had private messaged him to point out "little air bubbles" in the ice-cream which is the 7up that is used to stretch it out.

Have you noticed a change in the ice-cream in shops or ice-cream trucks? Have you see the tiny air bubbles?
