How to watch the Winter Solstice live as RTE unveil TV plans for Newgrange phenomenon
RTE will show the Winter Solstice live this December 21.
The Office of Public works [OPW] calls for the public to join them, and the National Monuments Services [NMS] to mark the shortest day of the year at the Winter Solstice live at ancient tomb Newgrange, Co Meath.
This event was first live-streamed in 2020, and viewers around the world have "been captivated by the beauty and wonder of the Winter Solstice."
Specialists Dr Clare Tuffy and Dr Frank Prendergast will guide viewers through the event, "providing unique insights and perspectives."

Rosemary Collier, Head of Heritage Services said, "Every year, the Winter Solstice receives much attention worldwide. At Newgrange, visitors gather at the ancient tomb to celebrate and experience the illumination of this ancient tomb passage."

The livestream will be available live on RTE News channel, and worldwide on the RTE Player, RTE.ie and the RTE News App on December 21.
