'What a horrible scam' - Gardai blast sinister text targeting people in Ireland
Gardaí have warned people about a new scam doing the rounds in recent days.
"What a horrible scam. Beware," the Garda Kilkenny page posted on social media in a warning over a health insurance text scam in circulation.
People around Ireland have been received the fraudulent text which wrongly informs people they have been awarded a refund but must follow a link to retrieve it.

The link then brings people to a hoax website and seeks bank details. The sophisticated text is fooling people as it is emblazoned with 'Vhi' across the top, making it look legitimate.
