Van driver in his 80s dies in Co Meath collision

A man in his 80s has died in a collision between a van and a car in Co Meath.

The crash occurred at around 5pm on Tuesday on the R162 Nobber to Kingscourt road.

The dead man was the driver of the van,

The two occupants of the car were taken to hospital and are receiving medical treatment.

The scene of the collision was preserved for a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

The road was closed to traffic and local diversions were put in place. The road will remain closed overnight.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
