A man who was arrested earlier this week following the alleged abduction of a woman in County Wicklow has been charged by investigating gardai.
The man was arrested in Co. Mayo on Tuesday afternoon - hours after gardai had issued an urgent appeal in relation to a yellow Renault Trafic van which has been last seen in Dublin.
Gardai subsequently confirmed they were concerned for the welfare of a woman who was in the van at the centre of the appeal.
The woman, who is aged in her 30s, was located safe and well on Tuesday afternoon and she is currently receiving support from members of An Garda Síochána.
A man aged in his 40s was arrested for alleged offences, under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997 and was detained at a garda station in the North Western garda region.
In an update, issued this Thursday morning, gardai confirmed he has since been charged and is due to appear before the district court in Arklow.
"Gardaí in Arklow investigating the incident of false imprisonment have charged the man who was arrested in connection with the incident. He is due to appear before Bray District Court this morning Thursday, March 14, read the brief statement.
Investigations are ongoing.
