An Garda Síochána has issued safety advice for people buying Mother's Day gifts online.
In a post published on X (formerly Twitter), Gardaí urged people to take care while buying online, and advised people to remember "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".
Their advice includes slowing down and not letting urgency influence purchases, controlling links and being sure about links followed and clicked, and only downloading from reputable sources.
They also advise being suspicious of unsolicited messages or contacts, and urge people to question whether an offer is too good to be true or not.
This year, Mother's Day falls on Sunday (March 10).
