A driver has been arrested in Kildare after being caught speeding twice the legal limit.
Gardaí from Naas, Co Kildare caught the driver on the R148 by Kilcock yesterday.
The driver, who had no car insurance, was going at 167kp/h in an 80kp/h zone under heavy rain.
"A quick look of the reg on our Mobility app showed us that he also had no car insurance," said Garda Traffic on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to them, the car was seized and the driver was arrested, and has now been charged. They will face a possible fine of up to €5,000 and a two-year disqualification.
