Traffic delays expected as M6 route remains closed following crash

Traffic delays are to be expected this morning following a crash on the M6 yesterday afternoon.

The busy road has remained closed between junctions 3 and 4 eastbound, following the collision as a technical examination of the scene is being conducted.

According to An Garda Siochana, delays are to be expected for those travelling in the area, however local diversions are in place.

Gardaí advise motorists anyone travelling to Dublin on the M6 will be diverted at Tyrellspass and can come back on the motorway at Rochfortbridge.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after yesterday afternoon, Thursday, February 8 a single-vehicle collision occurred  around 4pm on the M6.

A female child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was rushed to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street with serious injuries.
