Clare County Council is advising motorists of the proposed seven-month road closure of a busy Limerick commuter road close to the Clare border.
The proposed closure of Knockalisheen Road, from Knockalisheen Roundabout to the junction at Moyross Avenue, on the outskirts of Limerick city.
According to a public notice, it will be would be subject to a full road closure from Monday, November 28 until June 29, 2026 with a 24-hour closure in place throughout this period.

The closure will be put in place to facilitate the construction of the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Distributor Road Project.
Limerick City and County Council has stated the works are essential to advance the long-awaited project, which aims to improve access and traffic flow between Moyross, Coonagh and the wider city network.
For the duration of the closure, motorists are advised to divert via the Coonagh to Knockalisheen distributor road.
Observations and/or representations on the proposed road closure can be made by email to roads@clarecoco.ie or in writing to the Administrative Officer in Clare County Council before 4pm on Friday November 14.
