Pádraig Óg Ó Ruairc has been shortlisted in the Hodges Figgis History Book of the Year category for his book, Burn Them Out!: A history of Fascism and the Far Right in Ireland, published through Apollo, Head of Zeus.
Ó Ruairc’s book explores the roots of modern far-right extremism in Ireland, connecting historical events such as the 1923 Fascio Di Dublino, an Irish branch of Mussolini’s Fascist Party, to contemporary movements.
By examining these key moments, he traces a century-long thread that culminates in the 2023 Dublin riots, offering a sobering look at the rise of far-right agitation in Ireland.
Ó Ruairc originally hails from County Clare and has a PhD in Irish History from the University of Limerick, he has made significant contributions to Irish history, particularly the revolutionary period
His first book was Blood on the Banner: The Republican Struggle in Clare 1913–1923, followed by a contribution to The Military History of the Irish Civil War series, focusing on The Battle for Limerick City. Óg Ó Ruairc is also the author of Revolution: A Photographic History of Revolutionary Ireland 1913–23.

Solo is a novel in verse about teenage love and friendships, lost and found.
A novel in verse is a type of storytelling that uses poetic form and structure, with the narrative unfolding through a series of poems rather than traditional prose, allowing for a unique and emotionally resonant reading experience.
She has over a decade of experience in the Irish Book trade and founded ‘Rontu Literary Service’ which is a guide to advise writers on the publication journey.
