In the event of discolouration, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes will usually restore the water to a clear colour

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to customers in Shannon town, Sixmilebridge, Cratloe, Kilkishen, Quin, Kilmurray and surrounding areas in Co Clare. 

Following operational issues at Castlelake Water Treatment Plant, some may experience a loss of pressure and disruptions to their water supply.

In the event of discolouration, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes will usually restore the water to a clear colour. 

Darragh Conneely, Water Operations Manager, Uisce Éireann said: “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and we thank customers for their support while repair works continue. We are working to restore supply to customers as quickly as possible.”  

The company are committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and encourage them to engage through their website, X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater and through a customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.   

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
