Clare Arts Office, in conjunction with Kilkee's Cultúrlann Sweeney Library Gallery, are hosting an unmissable art exhibition by Ailish Malone, titled ‘Flowing….a legacy from stitch to shoreline.'

Ms Malone is a visual artist and designer from County Clare. Her work is deeply inspired by the River Shannon and the Atlantic coastline as well as the strength and resilience she draws from these fluid landscapes. The stunning art has been shaped by her father’s work as a fisherman and her mother’s love of sewing and knitting expressed though colour and vibrant textiles; a heritage that continues to flow through each painting and silk panel Ailish creates.

In this solo exhibition ‘Flowing….a legacy from stitch to shoreline’, the artist and designer reflects on years of exploring the meeting points between land, sea and sky. Using layered acrylics, inks, glazes and found objects, Ailish moves between realism and abstraction to evoke the energy and emotion of the coast.

An all-season sea swimmer and coastal wanderer, she finds inspiration in the ever-changing elements of this landscape. Through her art practice, Ms Malone invites viewers to reconnect with the same sense of wonder and freedom she feels when immersed in the natural world.

The incredible exhibition is free to view and will run until Saturday, August 2 in the Cultúrlann Sweeney Gallery, Kilkee. Visitors can pop in and view the sensational art between 10am and 5pm.
