Minister Dara Calleary made the funding announcement during a visit to Roscommon
More than €800,000 in funding has been awarded to eight Clare community projects as part of Government-backed Community Recognition Fund.
Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary has announced that over €17 million will be allocated to deliver 212 community projects throughout the country under this initiative.
This, he says, will help deliver real and tangible benefits to communities who have welcomed new arrivals in recent years to their cities, towns and villages.
In Clare, grants of €150,000 have been awarded to two separate projects under Clare County Council. This allocation will see upgrades to the Bodyke community car park and bicycle parking as well as roof repair works at Shannon's Tullyvarraga Community Hall.
Bunratty Search and Rescue is to receive €86,000 for a boat purchase and boat repair works with Clare County Council also being granted €100,000 for upgrades to the Nature Park from Maid of Erin roundabout to Cusack Road in Ennis.

Parkville FC in Knockalisheen and Liscannor Community Sportsfield were allocated €89,000 and €61,000 for improvement and enhancement works.
Speaking at the funding announcement, Minister Calleary said: "This announcement will mean that over 1,450 projects have now been awarded funding under the Community Recognition Fund in just over two years.
"The Community Recognition Fund continues to support the cities, towns and villages that welcomed new arrivals to their communities in recent years. This funding has enabled communities to be more inclusive and resilient through the provision and enhancement of a range of community facilities and community spaces.”
The Community Recognition Fund was first introduced in 2023 to recognise the huge efforts made by communities in welcoming and supporting people coming to Ireland.
