Serious injuries reported following multi-vehicle crash on Clare road

The two-vehicle collision occurred near Clonlara on the R463 Killaloe Road

A section of the R463 Killaloe Road is closed following a serious two-vehicle road traffic collision this Wednesday afternoon, May 14.

Gardaí, Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics with the National Ambulance Service are currently at the scene of the incident which occurred on the R463 road near Clonlara around 2.30pm.

It is understood three people have been rushed to hospital with one believed to have sustained serious injuries.

A garda spokesperson said: “The road remains closed at this time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. 

“As this is an ongoing incident no further information is available at this time.”

The road is expected to be closed for a lengthy period to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination.
