As part of the garda recruitment campaign, an open night takes place this Thursday evening at Kilrush garda station between 6pm and 9pm

Gardai in west Clare will host a free open night this Thursday as part of the latest recruitment drive which was launched last week.

The recruitment competition opened on February 6 and will run until 3pm on Thursday, February 27.

The competition will be operated by the Public Appointments Service on behalf of An Garda Síochána and Candidates can apply at publicjobs.ie.

As part of the campaign, an open night takes place this Thursday evening at Kilrush garda station between 6pm and 9pm.

Booking is not required and those who attend will receive an overview of the recruitment process, details of training and career advancement opportunities, an understanding of pay and conditions and will have an opportunity to ask us questions.

Garda Trainees graduate with a Level 7 Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Policing accredited by the University of Limerick, while being paid €354 per week for the 36 weeks of training. Food and accommodation is provided free while resident in the Garda College.

Garda Trainees attest after 36 weeks and start on a salary of €37,311 which rises incrementally. Garda Trainees will be assigned to work the core shift roster (12 hours) which attracts additional allowances, and will have the opportunity to work on overtime.
