Uisce Éireann says around 700 premises remain without a supply due to power outages
Water supply has been restored to the majority of Uisce Éireann customers in County Clare, the State utility has confirmed.
In an update it says that approximately 700 premises, equalling around 1500 customers, remain without supply as of this Thursday evening.
At its peak, tens of thousands of customers experienced water outages across Clare.
Uisce Éireann says due to a loss of power at pumping stations along the network, customers on the Ballymacravan Public Water Supply, including Ennistymon, Lisdoonvarna, Ballyvaughan, Doolin, Fanore, Lahinch, Cliffs of Moher, and surrounding areas may still be experiencing a loss of supply.
Customers on the Old Doolough Public Water Supply, may also be experiencing supply disruptions, including Rockmount.

"Please be assured that Uisce Éireann crews are continuing to work tirelessly to ensure the affected sites have power returned to them as quickly as possible, there are approximately 14 generators installed at all of the plants, pumping stations and reservoirs where it is required in an effort to ensure water supply is provided," said a spokesperson.
"We are continuing to work closely with the ESB to prioritise the restoration of electricity supply in the remaining locations where generators are still providing a power source. Customers may experience low pressure or disruptions as the networks begin to recharge, especially those on higher ground or at the end of a network," they added.
Alternative water supplies are available in the locations listed and will remain until supply has been restored:
* Killaloe GAA Pitch
* Public Water Tap located at Ennistymon Square
* Clouna Church, Ennistymon
