LATEST: Uisce Éireann issues update for Clare customers impacted by Storm Éowyn

Homes and businesses in the Crusheen area are without water due to power outages

As the clean-up continues following Storm Éowyn, Uisce Éireann says customers in the Crusheen area of County Clare are likely to be experiencing a disruption to their water supply due to ongoing power outages.

It says expert water service crews are working closely with the National Emergency Co-ordination Group, Clare County Council, ESB Networks, Clare Civil Defence and other agencies across the country as we work to restore normal supplies as quickly as possible.

Alternative water supplies are being arranged for impacted customers and will become available this Saturday in the form of bulk tankers, which can be accessed at Clarke’s Daybreak Car Park in the village.

Uisce Éireann says customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Darragh Conneely, Uisce Éireann’s Regional Operations Manager, said: "Uisce Éireann crews and the ESB are carrying out investigative works and working to restore power so that production of treated water can recommence as quickly and as safely as possible."

Once power is returned to an area it may take some time for normal water supply to be restored.

Customers can go to water.ie and enter their address for details of localised issues and estimated restoration times. Details of alternative water supplies if required will also be provided here.
