Clare groups announced as County Finalists in National Lottery Good Causes Awards

Five community and voluntary groups across Waterford have been announced as County Finalists in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2024.  

The awards honour the inspiring work and achievements of projects, clubs and individuals all over Ireland, who, with the help of National Lottery Good Causes funding, have had an extraordinary impact on their local communities.

The Waterford County Finalists are as follows: Arts & Culture: Vanessa Earl; Community: Irish Red Cross Community Services; Heritage: Dúchas na Sionna (Hastings Farmhouse) CLG; Health & Wellbeing: Clare Haven Services; Sport: Eire Óg Inis

Commenting at the launch of the awards, Andre Algeo, National Lottery CEO, said: "This is the sixth year of the National Lottery Good Causes Awards, and again, we are reminded of the extraordinary positive impact that the people who drive Ireland’s Good Causes have in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for all."

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 12 in Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co. Kildare.

Each of the 35 National Finalists will receive a cheque of €1,000 to celebrate them reaching this stage of the competition.

The overall winner will receive a prize of €25,000 while each of the category winners will receive a prize of €10,000.
