Delays for Clare motorists ease following early-morning incidents on motorway network

DELAYS on two major motorways following unrelated road traffic incidents have now been cleared, leaving both the M7 and M18 to reopen.

A full road closure following a single-vehicle collision this Tuesday morning at approximately 8:55am on the M7 has now been cleared. The incident happened between J29 and J30 on Ballysimon Eastbound.

Three fire brigades and gardaí were in attendance at the scene, which caused major delays for motorists.

A second incident on the M18/N18 between J02 Dock road and J03 Coonagh (Northbound) saw further delays for commuters travelling in the opposite direction. 

A breakdown of a vehicle occurred at approximately 9:45am, which has now also been cleared.

Both roads have reopened.
