Construction work on High Street in Ennis, as part of the Ennis Public Realm Regeneration, will now be extended to overnight work shifts, four nights a wee
Clare County Council have published a notice of extended working hours on High Street to facilitate the works.
An additional work shift from 7pm to 3am will be commencing 4 nights per week (Mondays to Thursdays) from this Monday April 15, 2024.
The council and the appointed contractor Shareridge Ltd. have said they will be putting in place "specific arrangements and make every effort to minimise noise and any potential disturbance during these times".
"The work pattern is warranted given the specific conditions on pavements and it is noted that this will facilitate earliest completion of all works on High Street," the council said in a statement.
"We do appreciate your patience at this time, and look forward to delivery of the re-modelled street in coming months."
High Street is due to be closed to all traffic from until July 31, from Harvey’s Quay/Salt House Lane to Bank Place/O’ Connell Square.
Funded under the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) with 25% match funding from Clare County Council, the Ennis Public Realm Regeneration will be delivered in phases to minimise disruption to local business.
