Ennis retailers invited to council talk on town centre rejuvenation

Retailers in Ennis are invited to have their say on shaping the town centre following the Ennis Public Realm Regeneration works.

Clare County Council would like to invite retailers from O’Connell Street, Market Street and Abbey Street, Ennis, to a talk on developing streetscape in Ennis, this Thursday evening in the Ballroom at the Old Ground Hotel.

Ed Fitzgerald who designed a streetscape for Parnell Street (Canvas Project) will present the design which includes a physical plan for façade painting, hand-painted signage, street furniture and planting.

According to the council, this is "an opportune time to think about enhancing our streetscapes and plan for town centre rejuvenation following the public realm works".

The Ennis Public Realm Regeneration are set to deliver a €11.5m upgrade to the streetscape of Ennis, which will involve the installation of a public fountain and seating plaza at the height on O’Connell Street, while Barrack Square and Old Barrack Street will be developed as ‘café quarter.

The talk will take place Thursday, February 29, at 6pm in the Ballroom, Old Ground Hotel, Ennis.
