Gardaí renew appeals for witnesses to fatal motorcycle collision

GARDAÍ in Ennis are "still seeking" witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision that took place in West Clare last Thursday morning.

An Garda Síochana have renewed appeals for witnesses to the incident, a collision between a car and a motorcycle, that occurred just outside the village of Ballyvaughan on the Lisdoonvarna road at 10.30am on Thurday July 27.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí later confirmed a man in his 40s was arrested as part of the investigation, and has since been charged in relation to the incident at Ennis District Court.

They are urging any witnesses to please contact them, particularly any member of the public who was in the area at the time and has dash-cam capabilities on their vehicle.

Anyone who wishes to contact Gardaí in relation to this matter is asked to contact Kilrush Garda station on 0659080550, the Garda confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
