Firefighters pictured at Electric Vehicle response training
CLARE FIREFIGHTERS have completed specialist Electric Vehicle (EV) response training offered by colleagues from Wicklow.
Clare County Council, who sponsored the vehicle for the training took to social media to highlight the training.
The local authority wrote: "Firefighters from Clare County Fire & Rescue Service recently took part in Electric Vehicle incident response training."
Fire and Rescue personnel from Wicklow delivered the training using an electric van from Clare County Council's Environmental section.
There are five stations across County Clare and there are 76 fire fighters and 26 operational vehicles at present in the Fire and Rescue Service. Clare County Fire and Rescue Service is well equipped to deal with most everyday emergencies.
Ennis Fire Brigade attend approximately 275 calls per annum.
These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services.
Weekly training drills take place on Tuesday nights from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
The firefighters also carry our training sessions on specialist equipment including breathing apparatus, road traffic accident equipment, aerial appliance, chemical incidents, confined space/height rescue, chainsaw operation, winch operation and HIAB crane operation.
